wasted so many Club Nintendo points on this and had to wait like 2 months for it to be delivered.

it works. it's no G&W Gallery, but it works.

Taking the top-down nature and gameplay of Bomberman and cramming it into a sidescroller was an odd decision. It kind of works, but still feels a bit odd to play. I'll have to give it another try at some point, since it's been a while and my memory of this one is fuzzy.

didn't release with an online service like the original, so, basically, Useless

also completely wasted my time since I waited for the eShop to update every week, hoping it would show up

ALSO iirc this was a parting gift for club nintendo's closure. an app that was promised a year prior. wowwwwwww

5/5 solely for Flipnote Hatena, aka "let your child use this online service, they won't grow up to identify as a gay pink fox online! trust us!"

still have an ipod with the last version of this. really not as fun as we convinced ourselves. comparing scores with friends was the only value I got out of this

Very good usage of single-finger controls. Not much in terms of content, but it's an endless score-attack mobile game so it almost doesn't need that.

It was okay. Visuals are neat. Only control is to jump with a single tap, but for a one-handed mobile game I feel like they probably could have done a bit more with single finger controls. Constant ads.

he gets drawn with colored pencils in this one

Damn fun/cool ability-mixing mechanic with this one, and the visuals are really nice to look at. Only problems I have with it are the forgettable levels and the requirement of a guide to get all the Heart Stars.

Everyone loves to overlook this one and forget it exists but honestly. honestly. for an original Game Boy game, it's pretty well packed and genuinely feels like a portable KDL3. Only problem is that it's maybe a bit short and a bit too easy to 100% (but that was with a few save states so YMMV).

I mean there aren't any Kirby games before this one to compare it to, and for a Game Boy game there's quite a bit going on, but at the same time- even after trying very hard to forget that the later Kirby games exist and do way more- it just feels a tiiiny bit basic. Which... I mean, that was the core design goal.

still fun though and we even got 30 years of a round boi out of it

I will get crucified for saying this, but honestly...? The OG Super Star was better.

I'm not denying that this is a fantastic and extremely faithful remake of that, but Ultra doesn't seem to add anything unique enough to make it stand out. Yes, it has RotK, MKU, and HtH, but those all just reuse and slightly alter content from the base game. Not to mention they make 100%ing the game so much more of a slog to get through. Super Star's length was ideal, if a tad bit short; but Ultra's length is simply padded out with way too much revisitation of the same bosses and stages.

Yyyyikes. This is probably one of the most basic, barebones 2D Kirby games, in the sense that it doesn't really try to do anything different aside from having a few collectibles in each stage... which is a standard part of the current Kirby formula. Sure the bubble mixing mechanic is neat, but it feels like the possibilities granted with it aren't explored with any amount of depth.

It's not even particularly difficult to 100% either; I think I did it in 2 sessions. And while yes, that's my sweet spot for game length, for 100%ing a Kirby game, that's ridiculously short.

It almost seems like Flagship was scolded for changing the formula too much with Amazing Mirror, because they were capable of making a solid, unique Kirby game there. This just felt like they were playing it safe.
