Love the new area to explore and train in but found the newer characters a little annoying. I appreciate the effort to add some narrative into this franchise, but it moves fairly slow for such a short plot and feels like a slog to get through at worst. The new characters and boss Pokemon also posed at least a bit of a challenge for me, but mostly because I don't have a lot of variety in Pokemon over level 70.
Ogre Oustin' ain't so bad at least, though I don't see myself getting hours of play out of it. The lore around the new mythical Pokemon was a little more intriguing than I expected, but overall this DLC doesn't do enough to elevate or compliment the experience of the main game.

Cute and surprisingly very funny. I loved how realistic all the crafting materials of the world were, while still maintaining an overall cartoon-y style. The battle system was fun the first few times but definitely became a slog after the hundredth time, and I think really held this game back (it's part of the reason I procrastinated beating this for almost 3 years). Overall I think it was a positive introduction to the series for me and I'm excited to play more of these games!

Thought this looked sick as fuck in the ads and I loved games where I could play as animals, but the gameplay was a bit boring & I eventually dropped it.

Tedious facebook pet game. I played it a lot when it came out, I think it was fun breeding your pets and seeing what I got. If you spent real money you could get some crazy animals like horses or tigers and then make them purple or some shit, but was in middle school so I just had the basic dogs.

Couldn’t get into it despite how popular it’s been amongst my friends. The first few hours felt sluggish and the plot beyond saving your sibling just kinda went over my head. I think I also get overwhelmed with games when there’s so many items and stats that aren’t explained beyond large chunks of text so I probably end up missing out on core elements of the gameplay.
I don’t think any of the characters are poorly designed, however the design philosophy seems to go for that over-detailed “check out my OC” look that’s common with anime-style media rather than crafting characters in a way that reflects who they are and what their roles are. I remember when an NPC says “Oh you’re a traveler, I can tell by your clothes” but the main girl looks like she’s in cosplay compared to everyone else. It is a gatcha game tho so I probably shouldn’t expect more than that.
Overall, whatever captured so many people just didn’t seem to grab me about this game.

The later games' ability to add a neutral mark instantly is sorely missed here, especially on larger puzzles, but a must-play for Picross fans. I adore the added detail of animation when you complete a puzzle.

Lent it to my high school boyfriend and then I dumped him for cheating and he stole it lmfaoooo

Kinda vapid gameplay-wise, but undeniably so cute and filled my childhood desire for more games that let you play as a Pokemon

Ugliest-looking of the series, but definitely the peak in all other aspects.

Took me years and the right second player to get past the invasion level where u have to shoot the cannons & close the big fucking door. That hazy filter they put the game thru that pushes the light/dark contrast up to insane levels is hard to look at after a while. As a kid I would mostly just fly around the first real open area and use my imagination instead of progressing.

As an enjoyer of animal/vet games as a child, I did spend a lot of time with this one. Would've been better without having to worry about the player character's stats on top of the animals'. Very little replay value.

2006

That quiet-ass living room had such ominous vibes idk how to explain it? Anyways, boring as hell but the theme song was oddly kind of good.

The back of the box art made it sound like this game was way more intricate than a basic pet simulator (besides the fact you could teach them english??), so I always thought I wasn't progressing when there was no progress to be made. I couldn't teach my real hamsters swear words and these ones don't smell so that's a plus.

Just tickles my ADHD brain and it's addiction to sorting and organization. The story was decent, I just wanted this bitch to keep moving.

Would rank higher but it's hard to not fat-finger the board sometimes. Also because Konami but mostly the former.
