Mario Kart but like 60% more fun, which sounds impossible. And it’s free?????????
This is SUCH A BLAST to play with friends, + the modding scene is constantly popping off. The sheer number of character skin packs and stages that people have made is insane.
Who knew Doom engine + Sonic Stylization + Mario Kart gameplay would make something this addicting :D

I love love love love the animation, color scheme, and all of Temmie’s art for this!!!
This was kinda just a proof of concept / prologue for a bigger project, but it was neat!

I don’t know if there’s much I could say that the other reviews here haven’t already said.
I genuinely felt a little sick playing though this, which goes to show just how poignant it all was.

Fuck
Man

It may be hard on the eyes at first, but god space funeral is really incredible.
I absolutely love this game’s humor. Even if there are a few unsettling portions of the game, there’s an equal amount of levity that balances it out.
Everything about this game is just really strange and bizarre, but not in an overtly annoying way.
It’s just the small things like being able to turn into a flopping fish or talking to dracula and initiating the best piece of dialogue known to man that make this game so endearing.

phillip walk cycle my beloved

Really long for a Mario party-like multiplayer board game adventure. Though, it’s absolutely worth it.
There is absolutely no game on this planet that tests friendships like this game.
You are never safe, you can never hide.
Your friends will find you, kill you, give you a funny nickname, and you will like it.
I’m genuinely so glad I got to play this game in full with a few friends. It was such a blast all the way through.

(Not completely related but TheRunawayGuys’ letsplay of this game was also legendary)

Great add-on to the base game.
I agree with most people that this didn’t really need to exist, but I thought that it was still alright.
I am in great pain

2014

just, brilliant
It’s insanely depressing but still manages to be incredibly funny when it wants to be.
The world you’re inhabiting is just this bleak ruined hellscape, and you get to see the extent of what horrors it has to offer.
Brad’s backstory and hardships are really well written too aaa

Please play this game you will be emotionally ruined eternally.

2021

I was REALLY looking forward to this game.
The artstyle of this game is gorgeous, and the exploration it had to offer looked really interesting. The OST was also going to be done in part by Japanese Breakfast which I was ecstatic about.
The game was just as calm and soothing as I thought it’d be, though at some points that’s all I felt it was.
The characters were interesting enough, although I wish a few would’ve had more importance. This game really could’ve benefited from some strong recurring characters.
This game was pretty great all around though!!!

I really love this game’s atmosphere. It feels incredibly cozy, but in a weirdly realistic sense. The dialogue was fun, the characters all had a ton of charm, and Mae’s struggles felt really genuine. The OST also goes really well with the laid-back autumn vibe that the game’s going for.
The only thing I didn’t really care for was the overarching story and kinda out-of-nowhere ending sequence. But at the same time, I enjoyed the rest of the game too much for that alone to diminish the experience as a whole. It was gloomy, snug, and visually amazing. The humor may not be for everyone, but I still found it enjoyable.

2010

Really short, but had a pretty interesting concept. I feel like this game could’ve been a bit longer to have some more time to expand upon its themes. As it is now, it’s a neat simple platformer that manages to get a lot across while saying very little.

I really love the Atari-like visual aesthetic of this game. A mostly black screen with a few distinct pixelated colors popping out really leaves an impact. It almost gives off the impression of a game you’d find on an abandoned cartridge.
It was surprisingly unsettling, and never managed to let that sense of dread falter.

The biggest fault I could remember were the weirdly lengthy exposition text dumps.
Everything else was pretty neat.

got a controller chucked at the back of my skull after winning 5 games in a row

20/10 wouldn’t have it any other way

I absolutely love meta-horror and pixel-horror, so this game was everything I could’ve asked for. This game also manages to present itself in a really unique way with those themes in mind.
Having to look through folders on your desktop for various files to solve in-game puzzles was really neat.
While the game wasn’t outright “scary” to me, it was definitely unsettling. I honestly preferred that. All the liminal space-esque locations definitely helped to build up that sort of eerie tension.
Part of me wishes this game was a little longer, but at the same time, I’m glad it never got to the point where it felt like it was dragging on.
My only real complaint was that the ending wasn’t all that satisfactory, though I suppose it wasn’t supposed to be. This whole game is pretty aimless, which is why that unsettling feeling is captured so viscerally. Putting a definite cap on that might’ve felt odd.
A lot of this game just feels really cleverly put together. If “eerie meta pixel horror” piques your interest, PLEASE give this game a try!
