For such a deep concept involving worlds within worlds. Cocoon manages to keep you moving forward without ever getting frustrated with backtracking. The art style, concept, and unique gameplay make this a puzzle game anyone can appreciate simply by looking at it.
A perfect open exploration take on the Metroidvania genre. Add tight controls and combat. With an extremely atmospheric somber vibe. These are just a few things that make Hollow Knight one of the greatest in the genre it was inspired by.
This entry feels like it's more for longtime fans rather than newcomers. Excellent throwbacks and returning characters. It felt like a goodbye to the original series.
