Favorite Remakes

Old game is old. But make new game is hard. Why not old game make new??

This game takes a beloved icon of gaming and pulls some weird shit with it. I love it. Plus it takes characters that were already loveable and makes them even more so. And it's just a great, addicting action RPG. Who cares if it's only the first part of the original? It's the most interesting remake of a game that I've ever played.
RE4 gameplay with RE1 game design. It's tense and beautiful and doesn't overstay its welcome. You don't need tank controls and fixed camera angles for a satisfying survival horror experience.
I played Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 and it was a truly cinematic experience... meaning It ran at around 20fps on a good day. Now it runs well enough to appreciate how good the game actually is. Plus it looks pretty.
Updated clunky PS1 controls to have excellent fluid motion. The levels are just how I remember, but with a great new art style. Also, I like that you can flap around and spit fire in loading screens.
This is a fan game. And It's so good that Valve allows them to use their IP and make money from it. Incredible.
I could never get over the controls whenever I tried playing the original Resident Evil games. Now I can truly appreciate the thrill of running around a big house looking for keys. It's a great game dripping with atmosphere, but it puzzles me that they redid the cutscenes and dialogue from the original, but it still sounds cheesy and awful. Bring back the "Jill Sandwich."
I feel like cartoony animation is really the best-suited graphics style for the PS4/XB1 generation. Even the most realistic games have that uncanny valley thing going on, but a game like Crash N' Sane Trilogy really feels like a cartoon brought to life. The animation/music/overall style is bouncy and fun, enhancing what they were going for in the originals. They also made the gameplay feel consistent, so Crash 1 isn't so jank compared to 2 and 3.
It's Ocarina of TIme, but with better graphics/animation, actually good use of 3D, and an easier water temple. Just port it to something else, please.
A collection of the original 3(4?) Super Mario titles remastered in high(er) definition. Plus without the weird NES audio distortion. They play great and look better than they ever did before. What's not to love?
The original game plays like garbage, let's be honest. It's the slowest, clunkiest action-adventure shooter you could possibly play. Remaking it with TR: Legend jumpy shooty gameplay gives it that cheesy 90s action movie flair that the original was going for but could never achieve.
