Scott Braden Cawthon (also known as "Admidude" online) is an American former video game developer, animator, writer, and moviemaker. In the late 1990s, Cawthon got Klik and Play, which started Cawthon's adventure into game development, with Cawthon stating that his very first game involved a blue blob moving around a deck of a pirate ship collecting red gems while pirates ran around, with his first release being Doofas in 1994. In 2003, Cawthon would release what he considers his first "official" game, an RPG named Legacy of Flan. In 2007, he began his work with Hope Animation on Christian-based animations such as "A Christmas Journey" and "The Pilgrim's Progress." In 2008, Cawthon would release his first professional game, Iffermoon, a side-scrolling RPG game. Cawthon would then, in 2013, release Chipper and Sons Lumber Co., the inevitable beginning of Cawthon's rise to prominence. Some critics said that Chipper and his friends looked more like creepy Chuck E. Cheese-like animatronics than cute, fuzzy animals. After a few more attempts at game development, Cawthon would go on to attempt at game creation one last time, making the eponymous survival horror game Five Nights at Freddy's in August 2014. Cawthon would go on to release several Five Nights at Freddy's games with over 20+ titles and 50+ books, as well as being the screenwriter and producer of Blumhouse's 2023 horror film hit based on the "Five Nights at Freddy's" video game. Scott Cawthon retired from public game development in 2021; despite this, in 2023, Cawthon would release a spin-off game in celebration of the film's release. Cawthon has released 100+ games, 40+ books, and 30+ films and TV series from the years 1994 to present.
