Interesting approach to a horror Touhou-themed story, the artstyle is what makes most of the experience, the characters and the settings look just the right amount of uncanny but still being cute and true to themselves. English translation sucks and really takes out a lot of enjoyment from it. Still good if you like Koishi's character and the right amount of mixture of cute and creepy.

I've been a big fan of Koto Inari's work for a long time, his style is not only one of the best in the vast Touhou community but some of the most interesting i have ever had the pleasure to see on the internet.

Sadly, his unique interpretation on the world of Touhou didn't quite translated into a a good game and this happened mainly for two reasons.

First, the game is not intuitive at all, you've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out what to do or where to go with little to no input from the game, which results in the experience turning quite frustrating most of the time.

Second the writing is shallow, i don't know if it has anything to do with the English translation in it of itself (which leaves a lot to desire) but dialogue seem incomplete, and shallow, like it's barely touching the surface of what it's trying to tell us, you'll get what i mean if you give the game a try.

For a future project, Koto Inari really needs to partner with an experienced writer and a game designer to help him make the game i know he's capable of.

I like the art style and ideas but I feel like the game was confusing at points since the English translation wasn't up to par.

Indie psychological-horror adventure game based on the Touhou Project where you play as Koishi Komeji, a satori youkai who can use her 3rd eye to "grotesquify" the scenery and objects in order to read characters minds, solve light puzzles, and discover cryptic memos that discuss real-world psychology practice/history. The artstyle is this unique, inky blend of cute and morbid (the closest reference point is probably the movie "Coraline") that sells this atmosphere of a child's nightmare, where the horror comes from never feeling comfortable from what Koishi might see next; although, your enjoyment will vary with your familiarity with Touhou, as a dodgy translation and weird performance issues hamper the immersion quite a bit.

I think there is something potentially good here, but sadly I didn't get it. And I think that's mostly on the translation being bad? Multiple times the translation just didn't make sense to me especially near the end where you can choose between two paths but honestly the translation made them seem identical to me.

Firstly, be wary that the English translation isn't the best, which hinders the storytelling and decision-making, and the gameplay isn't anything crazy - also some apparent optimisation issues. Otherwise, this was such a unique and morbid take on the Touhou universe and the atmosphere makes for an enticing journey. There were a few moments that I didn't expect and had me genuinely disturbed. Totally worth checking out if you're a Touhou fan.
