Based on the comic strip of the same name from the British newspaper Daily Mirror and specifically released on Christmas of 1987. Andy has to acquire money to give to his wife from various sources, as he has already spent his unemployment benefit, while consuming as much alcohol as possible and avoid getting arrested for various crimes.

I'm not familiar with the comic, but it seems to emulate the look correctly. The game is simple to pick up, but not horribly entertaining.
Pick-up and drop, side scrolling adventure game based on the UK newspaper comic strip about a hard drinking, wife-beating, flat cap wearing Northern layabout. It's a tough game basically because it doesn't hold your hand. Puzzles are sometimes vague and leave you grasping at straws trying to solve them. Likewise the map, which is mystifying.
