It is 50 B.C., and the entire Gaul (today's France) is conquered by the Romans. Only one village still remains independent, thanks to the incredible powers of its two great warriors, Asterix and Obelix. In the game, they must first of all liberate the village Orvio and rescue their friend Dogmatix. The player can play as either Asterix or Obelix. They make their way through platform levels, fighting enemies by punching them, and jumping to access higher ares or to avoid falling down. There are also some items that the player can collect, such as bombs, with which the player can overcome obstacles and advance in the game.

Played for RetroAchievements. I have a really high tolerance for bad platformers, more than most other people on RA it seems like, but this wasn't great. The hitboxes are awful and pretty much everything is really unforgiving. Thank god it had password saves between its 6 worlds because I genuinely think I could never have finished otherwise.

Subpar platformer. It's worth noting the timer will absolutely dick you down on Normal and Hard, because almost every level has a strict time limit, but that's all of note really. On Easy you have more than enough time usually, but stage design is still rather poor. I don't think Asterix and Obelix play any differently, besides Obelix being a little bigger. Music is surprisingly solid, except in earlier stages where it's pretty boring.

I wouldn't play this one, primarily because there's too little of interest but also because it's longer than it needs to be and it just isn't fun. There are videos around going through Hard mode so I don't have to (such as "Worst Levels Ever #35" by whoisthisgit, which encompasses the whole fucking game lol)
