A mod for Half-Life 2

Initially developed and released by Gearbox Software in 2001, second Half-Life add-on, Half-Life: Blue Shift is a return to the Black Mesa Research Facility and another look at the Incident's consequences from the eyes of Gordon Freeman's best friend - Barney Calhoun. In 2012, Crowbar Collective has delighted Half-Life fans with release of the magnificent Half-Life remake, but there are still no released remakes for add-ons. This is when they are coming in - HECU Collective are developing the Black Mesa: Blue Shift - a free remake with use of Black Mesa resources and style.

Not only is this a fantastic remake of Blue Shift, it's also an outstanding expansion that turns a short, simple add-on to the original Half-Life into a full-fledged, unique experience that surprised me every step of the way. Granted, the mod is not finished yet, as Chapter 5 is slated for Summer 2024, but even now it offers more than enough for me to recommend it whole-heartedly.

Comparing Black Mesa and Half-Life is kinda hard, because both of them are really good, but with BM: Blue Shift, this game is objectively better than the original. It went from a bunch of small level packs to something so much better. From its new levels and better character interactions, makes this the definitive version to play Blue Shift. I can't wait for it to finish.

This mod was made with love. Absolutely beautiful!
