It is a "falling blocks" puzzle game based on the Bomberman franchise. The goal of the game is essentially to cause your opponent to lose by causing their gameplay field to fill to the top with objects. You do this by causing chains of bombs to explode, sending useless rubble over to your opponent's field, which they must then remove themselves. Bombs are earned by causing chains of three identical blocks to disappear. Bombs can only be blown up with an explosion from a lit bomb, which falls from the top of the screen every so often. If the player causes enough damage, they can eventually earn a giant bomb, which will remove a large amount of debris from the playing field, and cause their opponent a good deal of trouble. The game's regular story mode revolves around Bomberman's hunt for the Golden Bomber statue. During his trek, he fights against several different odd characters, like Drifty the balloon, or Cecil the tiger. However, all that can really be earned from playing through this mode is a harder difficulty level, earned by finishing the entire story at the "hard" difficulty level.

I'm so far removed from the game that I don't have much to add. I did learn afterwards that Eighting is full of staff from Compile, esp. Kazuyuki Nakashima and Kenichi Yokoo. (Also uh when Toaplan disbanded some people went to Raizing which is for the purpose of our discussion basically Eighting, and some of the ones who didn't go there went on to Akumi, Gazelle, and most notably Cave.) Eighting mostly makes licensed games now but did make the immaculate and unmatched non-ochimono puzzle game Kuru Kuru Kururin.

Puyo Puyo but with Bombs.

This game is neat! Well, personally it isn't really my type of game but it definitely has its public and even I can tell this game was quality even though I wasn't too crazy about the gameplay.
Visually the game looks adorable I love it, the soundtrack is really good and the presentation is overall really good.
The gameplay follows the puyo puyo/panel de pon tropes with the block falling and you must align them to destroy them, y'know what I'm saying I'm no Tetris nerd unfortunately. I'm guessing the main gimmick of this game compared to other similar puzzle games is the bomb which is used to clear your screen as fast as possible and send blocks to your enemy.

My experience with this game honestly was just spamming blocks at random until they all cleared each other for big combos because whenever I tried to sit down and think about my next move I would get fucked over so randomly spamming blocks worked!
I'd like to say more about this game but I can't, it's good if you like puzzle games and that's pretty much it!

A neat little game that feels a little trickier to figure out compared to its closest inspirations, Puyo Puyo and Wario's Woods, but once you get the hang of it it's an alright game with cute artwork.

May revisit sometime.

Bomberman meets Columns. That's all she wrote.
