In Crash 'n Burn, players assume the role of any one of six cyberpunks, each equipped with a unique car and a deadly supply of weapons. Full-motion videos of the racers are accessible in between races, in which each character flaunt their skills and insult their opponents with death threats. The game has rally and tournament modes with a total of 30 tracks designed for one player.

This was easily the most impressive launch title for the 3DO with some decent visuals that were about as close as you could get to Ridge Racer or Virtua Racer at home. The gameplay was a precursor to other car battle games, perhaps a bit of a mix of Twisted Metal and WipeOut. The controls weren't the greatest, but they worked well enough, and the combat mechanics added a layer of chaos to the otherwise fast but somewhat dull racing.
