crush 3d takes almost everything i loved about the original psp game and waters it down to a mushy paste. sure, its got the same gameplay and level designs, but so much has been changed to make this an objectively worse version to play. the art style of the original has been completely removed and replaced with a basic, boring, flat style that is not as compelling as the original. not only that, but they didn't even change the music to compensate for that. the music of the original crush was twisted, it sounded like you were spiraling into insanity along with danny and it was a perfect fit for both the art style and the story. now that the art style has been changed to be softer, and they COMPLETELY rewrote the story, it no longer makes sense for the music to sound the way it does. (that being said, i am a fan of the one original song they composed for crush 3d, that being the title theme)

this next part might just be because im so used to the original, but i hate the way they changed the controls. in the PSP version, danny's controls were really heavy and weighty, and thats because he wasn't supposed to be a platforming hero. he was meant moreso as a vessel for the player to solve puzzles through, and a lot of the level layouts were made around these controls. in crush 3d, danny's controls are extremely snappy and he has insane air control, which can be used to completely invalidate certain puzzles.

while the original certainly wasnt 100% perfect when it came to polish, (i would know this, considering ive dedicated a lot of my time to finding glitches and skips in the psp version) crush 3d just feels sloppy. a lot of the sound effects are blown out, the cockroaches look borderline unfinished, and a lot of danny's animations look really stilted and bad. you're also now required to beat every level in every world to finish the game, as opposed to the original where you only had to beat 6 levels to move on to the next world. this could cause some issues in the later worlds, considering how brutal some of those levels can be. (locked in space, im looking at you)

if you're gonna play crush, play the psp version. crush 3d takes away a lot of the personality of the original, and waters it down heavily
