Dragon Ball: Origins follows Goku and his clever sidekick Bulma as they travel the world overcoming enemies and obstacles to collect the 7 Dragon Balls. In the shoes of Goku, the player must protect Bulma from incoming enemy attacks using special skills, such as fighting with his power pole, or unleashing a kamehameha. Combined with Bulma’s ability to invent machines and weapons, the intrepid pair make a formidable team able to defeat even the strongest enemies or trickiest of obstacles. The innovative controls mean the player uses only the touch pad to control Goku. Players must draw lines or shapes to direct the character and control the action by tapping on the screen, for example a double tap on Goku followed by tapping on the Ka-me-ha-me-ha letters unleashes his devastating signature move.

Man, this game is such a big pile of nothing honestly, sure the cutscenes look great and they got the original Opening in the game but man the longer the game goes on, the more tedious it starts to get, the gameplay is basically just tapping on the screen and all new moves you learn are basically irrelevant since you only need them in one level, which being the levels they are introduced in. And then there's the levels with Bulma, which are basically 80% of the Game, where you have to help her get through the Stage, which are boring at best since most of the time nothing much happens, and eventhough the three flying nimbus stages were neat, they still don't really make the game more interesting

estaba chuli y super nostalgico que te cuenten la historia sin censura y todo pero el juego en si le faltaba spark

Not good. The gimmicky touch screen movement feels rough, the story is slow. Sad to see, especially after the great Advanced Adventure on GBA.

As someone who never watched or read Dragon Ball before, this was a nice introduction! The presentation is really charming, the character models look great for the DS and have excellent facial expressions but the biggest issue are the extremely large levels in the middle of the game. The game is seperated into 8 chapters with 4 to 5 levels each which I found to be a good way to experience the story for a handheld at first. When a level is like 10 minutes long, it would be great to play on the bus or something. It's easy to play too - the game is heavily influenced by the Legend of Zelda titles for DS and basically controls the same which is very intuitive and easy to use but also rather simple and prone to error since every interaction is context sensitive. But with levels up to 40 or even 50 minutes long, checkpoints being 15 to 20 minutes apart, that use the same formular every time, it just gets extremely tedious and at some point I just started to ignore every enemy that I didn't have to fight.

My introduction to the franchise! The story is a really great adaption of the anime's first two seasons with all of the expected charm. It does have some generic game clichés like video gamey filler added to pad the adventure alongside forced touch controls but you can glance over that just fine.
