Ecks vs. Sever

released on Nov 21, 2001

At the beginning of the game, players choose which character, Ecks or Sever, they wish to control. Both characters' plots intertwine and are given different level designs for each of their missions. Gameplay is similar to other early FPSs such as Doom in that all of the graphics for enemies and weapons are 2D sprites in a 3D setting.

Pra um jogo de gba é honestíssimo

This game fucking sucks but it is a 3d game on the GBA so it is technically cool even if it is near unplayable.

This is a tie-in game to a movie starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu that must have sucked so bad and was so deeply buried that I have never seen it replayed on tv nor be available to see on any digital service.

The 3D aspect of this GBA game is my only concrete memory of this entire Ecks Vs Sever venture. The more I dwell on any of this, the less it seems real. Are you real? Am I real? Is Antonio Banderas real? He's probably real. There's a good chance your mom wanted to fuck him at some point.

Ecks Vs Server or Sever or whatever, everyone!

While a technical marvel and mostly fun to play through, plus the general charm of something like this to me, the later levels go a bit overboard with bullet-spongy enemies. Could also just be the controls being a bit squirrly at points, I dunno.

The level design is top notch for what it is, classic Doom styled 2.5D FPS mazes. Very playable despite the obscene circumstances. Looks acceptable when using the Analogue Pocket, not emulation. Those last three levels are a total bitch though, and god damn if the end boss isn't a super sponge. Text only cutscenes are boring, even if it's still better told than the movie. I kinda wish the cancelled PS2 version saw the light of day, more people would probably give it a chance (and those last few levels would probably be less frustrating).
