Possibly the game with the best box art on the console (don't worry about the giant bear running at you, aim for the grouse flying away). Field and Stream is a quite obscure and overly hated hunting game, released in 2010.

Now, I do understand the hate. Field and Stream doesn't hold your hand. Figuring out how to play the damn game does take a while and animals don't just sit there waiting for you to head shot them like the Cabela games. Also the game looks horrible, it's one of the worst looking games on the console.

If you put in a bit of time with the game though, it does become a relaxing and challenging hunting experience, unlike any others on the console. Looking at turds (hehe), following tracks, and using your binoculars, you must actually hunt in this game. You always have lots of different items to help you capture your prey, that is if you can figure out how to use them. It's a very different experience to most hunting games on the console, an interesting and flawed one.

Now I can forgive most of the games issues, but one of the problems that I can't forgive is the difficulty. The game is structured into missions in 4 different areas. In each mission you are given time to hunt a certain number of animals. Some of these are fine, but some of the goals are near impossible to meet. It's made worse by the poor graphics, meaning you can't see the animals half the time, and the fact that the animals go absolutely mental and run around when they hear a gun shot.

I think most people who hate this game haven't really played enough to understand and appreciate it, or many I'm just a weirdo. It's a bad game, but a pretty interesting one that I do recommend checking out.
