At first the retro look has its charm, but its veneer wears thin and the package is puny

I remember learning about this game when the Action Replay pretended to be it on the DS Home Screen

wasted so many Club Nintendo points on this and had to wait like 2 months for it to be delivered.

it works. it's no G&W Gallery, but it works.

When I was like 12 I got enough nintendo points to order this and I'm very glad my parents didn't get pissed off I got something like that delivered addressed to my name without telling them first.

Game & Watch Collection is a collection of three dualscreen Game&Watch games being Donkey Kong, Oil Panic, and Green House. As a collection of games, these games run good and they play good so it works in that department. Each game as well is unique enough to where it doesn't feel like another game, so the collection has some variety too.

The main highlight of this collection is Donkey Kong (G&W) which is pretty good for a port on lesser hardware (for the original). The game features classic barrel rolling and jumping action with some of it's own twists. The twists for this game as the crane on the top which you need to press to save Pauline and bars that block you from going up the ladders (which you lose a life if you hit.) It is easily the best of the three games in this collection and is just in general one of the best Game&Watch games.

The 2nd game in this collection is Oil Panic which features Mr. Game & Watch catching dripping oil and throwing it down to another Mr. Game&Watch into a bucket. This game works better in Game B as the bucket lines up better with the dripping oil as it is faster (like most Game&Watch Game Bs). This game is simple and easy to learn, but Game A is way too slow. Overall, it's a solid game that works for what it is trying to do.

Lastly, in this collection is Greenhouse which has the best gameplay of the three, in my opinion but has a major issue none of the other games have. In the game greenhouse you play a Mr. Game&Watch trying to defend their greenhouse from caterpillars and spiders. Caterpillars which are on the top screen take one hit to die, but are quickish. On the bottom screen there are spiders which take multiple hits to kill and each hit pushes them back. The two enemies create complexity in the sense that do you push back the spiders all of the way to deal with the caterpillars, but risk them getting closer to the plants or push the spiders once or so and deal with the caterpillars while the spiders creep onto the plants. Despite the many good things about this game, the major issue I have with this game is the ear-hurting screeching from gaining a life and dying. I'm hearing impaired and my ears are really sensitive in general and this literally hurts my ears, which sucks and I don't want to have to mute this game as the beeps and the boops really help make a Game&Watch game a Game&Watch game. The loud screeching is also potentially dangerous in a car which might cause it to crash if the driver doesn't gets startled from someone playing the game whether in the front seat or backseats.

Overall, this collection is fine, it features 3 solid diverse games which help the value of it even if one of those games (Greenhouse) does hurt my ears it's still fun. It does suck how rare this game is as a Club Nintendo exclusive and I wish it wasn't as more people should've have the chance to play this game.
