An expansion for Gothic II

You have torn down the magical barrier and released the prisoners of the Mine Valley. Now the former criminals of the forests and mountains are causing trouble around the capital of Khorinis. The town militia is powerless due to their low amount of force–outside of the town, everyone is helpless against the attacks of the bandits.

A globally underrated masterpiece that not many games can live up to. In my eyes.

Much improved over the base game. A shorter, interesting story in a more unusual setting.

My favourite game of all time.

I still think that this expansion doesn't quite fit the whole Gothic vibe, but my copy of Gothic II made it mandatory for the completion of the game, so after countless playthroughs it grew on me

Everything I wrote about Gothic 1 also applies here. This sequel does everything even better than its predecessor. The scope is significantly larger, but the game never feels stretched out. I think that the quality of the quests has increased immensely, you can often decide how you want to complete a task with varying consequences. The journey to Irdorath is amazing, you really feel like you're embarking on an epic journey with your best friends. Battle system has been reworked and feels more fluid/responsive. All in all, an absolute masterpiece.
