lots of really strange design choices here - you want to leave a near-dead enemy alive so they block reinforcements, you want to leave the final near-dead enemy alive until you can spam respite enough times to go back down to 0 fatigue so that you can both collect items and be fresh for the next fight / training, and if you don't do this early you'll be very tightly pinched for gold in the third arc - the third arc itself starts draining you fatigue for wearing armor (maybe in an effort to combat the previous issue?), but it doesn't affect enemies and you can't control your own squad's armor, and on top of this punishes non-agi+weapon skill builds when this is already the strongest build; most common enemies are oneshot by armor piercing trinkets + neck strike but bosses/uniques are way, way stronger and will be at 0% chance to-hit until you have the fatigue advantage... the 'roguelike' elements are pretty questionable too, although that's more of a matter of taste to me.
the 'dating sim' pandering is mostly just weird and incidental, the writing is mediocre, the art is neat for the enemies but portrait art is pretty poor... with all that being said, it's ambitious for a ren'py game and the basic concept here is strong enough that it's more than a playable game in spite of all of these faults

Like "A Legionary's Life" but in the middle ages and pretty much worse in most aspects. Then again, I probably need to grind some more in order to start getting proficient.
It also has smut, for some reason. I guess that's an extra half star.
Edit
After playing some more (I cheated to get stats and skip the grinding) I have to say that the game is kinda broken, both because of the bugs and because of the gameplay. It really starts to become gruelling when you get to the middle east. How the game also artificially limits your stats is pretty annoying, specially when you consider how the game keeps sending you stat lowering random events. Regarding bugs I had the same quest trigger a bunch of times and the game crashed 2 or 3 times too. While the concept is nice and it has some very cool moments (like when I killed the cultist girl and escaped the city) I don't think it's worth it. Even the porn is very tame and not worth it.
As I said, it has all the pitfalls A Legionary's Life has while being very uneven in the good aspects. It's sad, I won't get to know what happens if you rescue the knight from the desert.
