For the life of me I don't remember getting this game, but it magically appearing in my little blue DS carrying case that had nine slots for games (IYKYK). I got it used so it had someone's data on it, I was so confused about the mechanics and plot, so when I reset my own file, I thought it'd be better, but it wasn't. It was so grindy (not that I knew that at the time), it was so slow-moving, and I kept getting stuck with no clue where to go, and since it was such a sluggish process (exploring and fighting) I got bored and never finished. Loved InuYasha though so it was just good to have an InuYasha game I could take on the go. I wouldn't recommend it though, not even for nostalgia, it doesn't hold up, at all.

InuYasha deserved way better than this..
It's a sloggish RPG with extremely slow movement, repetitive music and combat. The characters are a fraction of what made them interesting in the anime and manga and even then they are the only good thing from this game.
Also, what sort of RPG lets you level up but not learn new moves?.

Absolutely awful

REVIEW:
I replayed a bit of this game before this review, to remember the negatives and flatten my nostalgia.

PROS:
-- Inuyasha Game
-- Easy to mindlessly Grind - With Inuyasha's "wind scar" and miroku's "wind tunnel" basically all nps's die or end up being no threat. [unless it's that moon and inuyasha is nerfed]

CONS:
-- How is this a RPG? - What role playing games have you played where characters unlock 0 skills? Every skill you start with is the only ones you'll be using at the end.
-- Zero Direction - I don't mean to sound like a "game reviewer" that can't figure out how to double jump, but they give you zero tutorial or info on where to go, the tutorial doesn't matter much because you can figure it out pretty fast, or have to restart (like your party doesn't "escape" all at once, so if your the MC and starting with the two minions, if they escape then the enemy can just kill you and you have to restart, so that's how i found out party doesn't escape all at once), but the direction part is kinda annoying, you will be in a town/etc and get a popup like "you hear your name, investigate"... so you go left, nope, you go up, nope, repeat repeat with the super slow move speed... at least say "you hear your name from the west". It would also be nice if there was SOMEWAY to find out your current quest or destination or anything... like an exclamation mark over a city, or a recap when you load in... as as far as i can tell, if you leave this game for a bit and come back... you are ****ED... good luck guessing where you need to go.
-- Little skill info - you can view descriptions of skills, basic text desc's with EP usage, but not much like if it's single target or AOE or inflicts.
-- Seldom Viable Skills - You have like 1-2 skills on each character that are basically what you will do each time... And you can have them "charge-up" if they use too much EP, like *Inuyasha's "wind scar" and miroku's "wind tunnel" do be busted.
-- Cut Dialogue - You will have your MC say something like "X person said this", whenever when we were talking to that homie, they literally didn't not say that.
-- Excessive Dialogue - Take a shot every time they say "Shikon Jewel Shard" (compared to "shard"/"jewel"/etc).
-- Crazy Slow movement speed. You can walk like 10-20% faster while holding B, but still slow.

This game is NOT it chief, please play literally any other JRPG for fucks sake
