A decently fun little first-person metroidvania adventure game that provides just enough interesting mechanics and an intriguing setting throughout its short runtime to not overstay its welcome too much.

The 'comedic stylings' of the game do leave a lot to be desired though, as it takes clear inspiration from Futurama, Rick & Morty and Galaxy Quest (with a splash of Tim and Eric) without really holding a candle to any of them. That's a tall order though, and I do respect them for trying, as the bizarro tone and flavor of the world it builds does keep you amused enough to see it through to the credits, which is admirable in itself.

Writing/humor and various control issues stop this from achieving a higher ranking but what is otherwise in store for intrepid explorers of Journey to the Savage Planet is undoubtedly enough to spend time on without it feeling like a waste.
