This is a metroidvania type of game with a gimmick. You have 30 seconds to reach the next checkpoint. If you’re too late you’ll respawn at the last checkpoint you were at. In practice, this gimmick adds nothing but wasting your time. You have the option to either go with this gimmick or turn it off, but you only get this when you start a new file. I wish I could turn it off but can’t anymore. The rest of the game is not worth replaying or finishing even. It has enough bugs to make me pause, the inventory menu with the d-pad is very weird, the controls are not great, neither the level design, graphics or the music, the map is not very helpful, there is no teleportation while there should be etc. I’ve discovered 40% of the map and made it to chapter 3 out of 5. I was playing this because I enjoy metroidvania games but it wasn’t enough in the end. There are far better metroidvania games you can play, especially if you have other systems.
