An episode of Minecraft: Story Mode
Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure game set in a Minecraft world. It is a five-part episodic series that will take you to the Nether, the Farlands, the End, and beyond! You will drive how the story flows through the decisions you make: what you say to people (and how you say it), and what you choose to do in moments of thrilling action.

So apparently the story ends after the fourth episode, with this one being more of a side quest type-thing that leads into the DLC; and that’s a bit of a weird move on Telltale’s part, they clearly didn’t have enough material to stretch out into a five episode story, so decided to make the final one filler. The idea isn’t bad by any means, but the execution definitely is; they try doing a skyblock story about a civilization that doesn’t know about the overworld, which is run by a dictator who keeps people in check by removing their rights to express themselves— in regards to building. On paper, that’s a cool fucking idea! But because this game isn’t mature enough to actually delve into proper themes, it ends up being a generic attempt at one; with the dictator being redeemed at the end despite essentially holding people hostage and imprisoning them when they “step out of line”. Like what the fuck? Not everything has to have a happy ending, she doesn’t HAVE to be redeemed, it’s just annoying and predictable. The same goes with Aiden’s whole character arc, he’s basically threatened an entire town and has certainly killed people, but because it’s a kids game, you can’t choose to let him die— despite that being two! of the choices, he just survives regardless. This makes the choice aspect of the game even more useless than it already was, because now they’re not even pretending that it matters. I will say that I like how the characters are more useful now, they actually make an impact on the story; and some of the set-piece moments are pretty cool, but it’s sadly not enough to turn this into an enjoyable final episode.
