i played this game and never could finish it and don't think i will as it is just a extremely uncompleted game lmfao but fromsoft and bandai please link up and give us an actual armored core gundam i am on my knees

The most redeeming quality was that it came with a free figurine I was able to give to my son

While I don't think I got the full experience as I can't understand Japanese and only played the Unicorn mode, I found this game to be fun with a few issues overall.

It's worth noting that this game only covers the first 3 episodes of the OVA, which may leave people disappointed once it ends. That being said, it adapts those episodes very well. The cutscenes are in-engine recreations of scenes from the show, which are extremely well done and got me fanboying out super hard when combined with the music from the show as well. The visuals and audio are all faithfully carried over from the show which is just awesome. I also need to talk about how amazing the music is, it's the same soundtrack as the show, which is awesome. The final level in the game is absolutely gorgeous with the Earth in background as you start to fall into its atmosphere, which is one of the most gorgeous scenes I've seen in a PS3 game.

The game is short, but has a lot of DLC I can't get, so that might add a lot of content I wasn't able to access. While I like what this game goes for, there's a lot of weight to your movement which usually feels pretty good, but can often feel clumsy and made precise movement frustrating. I also like the weapons you have at your disposal, but for some reason, using your vulcan cannons that shoot from your MS's head makes you unable to use any other attacks until it finishes shooting which makes no sense at all. The lock-on system can be really uncooperative by locking onto every target other than the one I wanted to lock-on to. Some enemies are just really spongy for what feels like no reason, sometimes I would destroy an MS in a few hits and others would take so much abuse that I would have to leave to find more ammo to shoot them with mid-fight which is really annoying.

Even with all its problems, I still had a lot of fun with this game, it goes without saying that this game is for fans of the Gundam Unicorn series so don't bother if you're unfamiliar with that. This game was made with a lot of love and dedication to detail, and that comes through clear as day. I think that it's worth a play if you really like Gundam Unicorn already like I do, just don't expect too much content.
