Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the game that you will hear a lot from the Monster Hunter community and after playing it, I hereby declare that the Hype for 3 Ultimate is all true.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is one of the most unique MH title out there. It's the game that had a huge impact for MH fans and yet it managed to amaze a lot of new and old fans of the game. 3 Ult is not just your average Monster Hunter game, it has a lot of new mechanics that stayed even on the newer titles... speaking of new mechanics, Underwater combat was introduced, and I can say is that I enjoyed the underwater combat but some people don't. The underwater combat was a very good implementation to the series, and I love how it makes the combat slower since you are "under water" and you need to actually think very hard before you swing your weapon unto the Wyvern's head. In general the gameplay is your average Monster Hunter game with a lot of new mechanics. In addition, a new weapon! 3 Ultimate finally introduced us the new and fan favorite Switch Axe and it's a good weapon nonetheless, it has the slow but big damage of a great sword and the fast with ailments but not so durable. Aside from the new weapon we also got new monsters to hunt like Brachydios and others.

The story is again, your average Monster Hunter game. You hunt down the flagship monster and the true elder dragon appears for you to hunt down. One of the down side of this game is it has a slow start, unlike any other MH game 3 Ultimate's low rank feels very slow and it takes like 15 quests just to get to the actual hunting part of the game. All that aside the new quirky NPCs such as the new guild girl, Aisha or Moga Sweetheart is very charming and all other NPCs in Moga village is pretty quirky and funny. Moga village itself is a lively village and fun. The graphics for 3 Ult is not so bad and not so good but what do you expect for a 3DS/Wii U "Monster Hunter" game? But again the graphics is a great upgrade from the previous title which is Monster Hunter Dos.

At the end, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a great Monster Hunter game. I enjoyed it since I love MH and playing 3Ult is enjoyable because of the new implementations and mechanics to the series! The OST is also very good! Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a must-try especially if you are just starting into the series.

The series just ain't for me :/

truly the best enhanced 3ds port of a wii game on wii u

oh my god brotha this is where legends were made this is it man moga village theme AH YEAH i had the wii u version and my friend had the 3ds version ah yeah man those underwater fights a lot better when you aint solo hunting, ah yeah man

How I got into the series, amazing game

Played 3DS for the "real" experience. I still don't understand the appeal of this series, it gets repetitive super quickly.
