Onimusha Blade Warriors is a multiplayer fighting game based on the first two games of the Onimusha series. Familiar elements taking from the Onimusha games include the medieval Japanese settings, the characters, items, and the ability to absorb souls in order to perform a magical attack. Fourteen characters are available initially, but a total of twenty-four can be unlocked over the course of play, including long-time Capcom superstars Mega Man and Zero. With the addition of items and weapons strewn around the battle field which characters can pick up to aid in battle, gameplay is aptly compared to one of Capcom's other fighting franchises, Power Stone.

onimusha continues to amaze me everytime

Pretty funny that you can play as such great characters like 'Grunt' and 'Zombie' in this.

Such a wild turn to make after 2 onimusha games. I can't help but feel there aren't many attempts at copying smash bros, and it's so weird that this is one of the few decent ones.

The game was certainly different. A party fighter? Game had stages and weapons like a smash bros type game and had Onimusha like gameplay. Experimental to say the least. For the most part it's pretty fun. It's not flawless but the raw combat feels good and the game doesn't favor luck like a lot of other 4 player fighters. Characters have their basic Onimusha string attacks with a few new ones. You can even use a attack to know your opponents weapons out of their hand. Or pick up a crazy item on the field. Maybe their is a magic soul you can absorb to do a devastating elemental attack. Most devastating though is you can do critical hits on your opponents like in the mainline games. Strike your opponent the precise moment their attack lands does a counter which deals major damage. Or yo can deflect or block at the right time for the same effect as well. The attacks are so powerful the game becomes a huge bait and strike game. The attacks are just too powerful. I was afraid of getting countered everytime I played against someone. At the same time though I liked to wait and try to counter myself. The game turns into like a really old samurai duel just waiting for an opportunity. The game had a lot of characters from the main series and some new ones. It was cool being able to play as all the fan favorites. The game was a good bridge until Oni3 was released.

Best fighting game ever made the star system isn't enough to give this game a fair rating.

So good, there aren't enough stars in this site

this game is sick its got zero and megaman.exe in it

oh yeah and onimusha characters too i guess
