Pochi and Nyaa is a puzzle game made by Taito (Makers of Puzzle Bobble/Bust-A-Move) and Aiky. The story behind it is that in every 1000 years there is a Tournament held by the animal gods Pochi (the Dog) and Nyaa (the Cat) in decision who will be the top star for the next millennium, although they need the power of Earth's people to do so. The gameplay is similar to Super Puzzle Fighter and Puyo Pop, but with a few differences.

: P&N is the last breath of the Compile corporation, and the rich molecules of wizened game design therein still fill the lungs of puzzle likers everywhere. i experienced a lot of joy playing this! the design is smooth-sanded by the 9-odd-years of Compile puzzle wisdom. it claimed the title of "Puzzle Game of the '00s" falsely -- it doesn't iterate far enough away from Puyo Puyo to earn that title. instead it composed-out the design possibilities offered by the color-matching stacker into a thrilling package, "the greatest branch on the tallest tree."
