So much potential, and if it kept up the pace from the first half it could have been perfect. Also, there's a decent English patch now. To get the especially bad out of the way: there's porn in this game and there's unnecessary extremely offensive themeing for a Pokemon game. I'm not typically one to get offended but this game really pushed it even for me and it just feels like it's in the wrong place.
Positive: Balanced level curve, good gyms, good regional forms, fast paced region design, lots of post-game content, built-in speedup, accessible ev training, large pokedex.
Negative: Second half is an overly serious self-indulgent slog, instead of giving trainers 6 mons they have 2x as many trainers with 3 mons each, off-brand franchise music, and routes have too few encounters.
Mixed bag.
