A great horizontal shmup with a PC Engine aesthetic from the same person who did Terra Flame. Has a great scoring system as well...with collecting as many diamonds from fallen enemies and not dying at all being key to shooting your scores way up. Normal and Hard aren't too taxing, but Expert turns the game into a bullet hell for those looking for that.

-Switch Version-

Vertical shoot em up that gives you both a forward focused shot and a wide spread attack that shoots a smaller spread in front of you and at each diagonal point of your ship. Five different powerups can be used that fire with you main weapon a laser that penetrates anything, a fire shot that explodes in an area after hitting something, two rings that circle around you, homing missiles, and a spread shot that is weak but covers a good amount of what is in front of you. Enemies, stages, and bosses are fairly simple visually and the gameplay is more focused on wiping out entire groups of enemies for bonus points and building chain kills, though one stage does have you moving along a large ship as its turrets fire at you and hangers releases other enemies. Music is good. Simple on the normal difficulty but can offer a challenge if you try the other two. Kind of a dull end section where you fight all the bosses again before the final boss appears.

The PC version has a more PC Engine look to it while the Switch version still somewhat retains that style but is given a more detailed look.

This is probably the best shmup for beginners. I've been grinding at it for a couple days and have managed to pull off 1CC's on Normal and Hard. They feel difficult but you never really feel like it'll take hours to get good. The patterns are basic and easy to understand and there's a lot of fun weapons. It's good enough for me to try and 1CC on Expert so I can get all the games 13 achievements!

Some basic advice:

1) This is something I learned from some videos on Youtube as general shmup advice. Try not to stick to the very bottom except for certain boss fights! The best position for neutral play is around 1/3 up the screen, it gives you lots of space and time to react to patterns while increasing your damage output so you can kill enemies before they enter the screen! Adopting this into my play has helped me a lot with shmups, it's easy to get backed into a corner if you fall into the back of the screen.

2) Learn to love the homing shot! It's absolutely awesome being able to have it target boss weak points and shred them down alongside your main shot! Otherwise the wave shot is quite good

3) If the boss only has specific openings, laser is your best friend! It pierces through everything, and can cause some cool mass destruction, but it's not going to increase your screen control at all.

4) Fire gets rid of purple bullets, useful but I never used it toooooo much.

It really has no frustrating moments and I love the designs of the bosses despite their general blocky simplicity. Soundtrack bangs too, if you're wanting to get into the STG genre and feel like you need an easy gateway. This is really an excellent way to get into it if you're willing to part ways with a bit of money. (I got it on sale for 7.50$, which I thought was an excellent deal!!)

It also has co-op which I'd love to try with a friend sometime!!!

An STG in the Style of an old PC ENGINE Game c:

Very approachable for newcomers on Normal difficulty.
A bit more challenging on Hard
Will kick your ass on Expert xD

Fun shooter in the style of old PC engine caravan shooters - very accessible for new players but with a decent challenge on expert difficulty.
