4½ stars – it's an amazing game

You can tell there's a lot of gameplay potential Sheepy can't completely squeeze out in its short 1½ hour runtime, but what Sheepy does do within that runtime is nothing short of incredible. It is visually gorgeous; the soundtrack is moving; the platforming and combat are simple yet absurdly fun; and there's even some strong worldbuilding and storytelling to keep you invested.
Sheepy: A Short Adventure begs to be fleshed out into a full-blown metroidvania to fulfil its worldbuilding and gameplay potentials, but even as the straightforward adventure game it is now it is a wonderful experience.

Loved it! Sweeping, poignant, surprisingly emotional. Honestly it's probably the best sound design I've ever seen in a videogame.
It's more about the storytelling to me anyway, but as a platformer it's a little dull. They make do with what they have for the little bosses, which were fine. The absence of an actual skip button (instead of just fast-forward) for the intro cutscenes is frustrating.
I think it's wholly impressive, feels almost like a movie especially with its length, and I think that's a great thing! Though of course I'd also be excited to see what the devs make up with a longer runtime.
