I can see the vision with this one. A Diablo-like on the go, when this came out, is a cool concept, and for being a Gameboy game, they kinda made it work. It has a lot of the shit you'd expect to see in a arpg of that sort, at the very least the basics. I can see it being a good option to play time to time or on a road trip. That said, in todays age, just sitting at home emulating it, it gets old quick. I got up to world 4 (awful boss btw, part of why I decided to drop it along with the game just becoming a chore) and I decided I had seen all this game had to offer. Spritework is neat, music isnt anything special, story exists. Playing this now, it's very, very, eh, but I feel like if I got this for my GB in the early 2000s I would've loved it.

Play the sequel its 10 times better than whatever this is

The 'Shining' title made me curious, but this really wasn't for me. Combat felt weak, there wasn't any story to speak of and everything felt a slog. I couldn't play more than a few hours.
Why did they go from their awesome SPRG series to this? I'm sure if they kept making those games and innovating them it would have been almost as popular as Fire Emblem. But instead they went with half backed ARPG titles.

I played this game in a single sitting the same way someone would eat an entire one-pound block of extra sharp cheddar cheese on their day off because they’re depressed: I knew that I shouldn’t do it, I knew that I wouldn’t even enjoy it in the moment, and I knew that I’d be paying for it later on, but I did it anyway

Ainda pretendo concluir algum dia.
