A Remake of the 8 bit version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2. It adds new playable characters and "demakes" of the Sega Genesis stages. It also boasts a widescreen aspect ratio and a rock solid framerate.

literally worse than the original in every way. the two character gimmick is so painfully forced, the levels are worse than the originals, they added new zones for no reason, they removed the twist of finding emeralds in the stages, completely replaced the final boss, added a knockoff doomsday zone at the end for some reason, and the inclusion of super sonic ruined the challenge of the bosses. do not play this, play the original master system version.
No matter what you do this game is still meh but at least that was an improvement over the original.
now this is the way you should play Sonic 2 8-bit and honestly I think this is better than Sonic 2 16-bit
