despite being mixed the game itself is still fun:
1. the gameplay is very close to the original classic sonic games so no issues there!
2. the artstyle is pretty decent
3. the soundtrack is the most mixed i have ever felt about a sonic game, some sound REALLY good, though some sound like your sonic 4 ass music which sucks balls.
4. boss fights are such a drag, unlike the classic games where you can hit them as many times as you want, this game functions like sonic 4 in which the bosses have a pattern before exposing themselves to get hurt, the final bosses of each story are so bad that i pray for people's sanity when beating them
5. trip is a pretty fun character to play though her stages can be pretty tough
overall just wait for a discount and don't be like me who paid 70$ for this game with the deluxe edition

this dlc isn't worth it honestly
This game probably isn't all bad. A lot of it is just okay, but very generic and unmemorable. I don't remember a single music track, can't really remember any fun levels. When everything is so forgettable, the only stuff that's stuck with me in the end is the bad. A handful of awesome levels, occasionally frustrating controls, and some extremely unfun boss battles. I remember thinking some parts were okay, but I couldn't tell you anything about those okay parts.
The LEGO skins actually redeem this game a bit for me. Laughing while watching LEGO Sonic get carried away in a water current like an actual minifigure getting flushed down a train was the only time I remember feeling any positive emotion while playing.

Multiplayer is difficult to do in 2D Sonic games but I still enjoyed it, had some good laughs. Single player zooms the camera in too much. Characters are fun, (except Knuckles got nerfed again) some powers are fun to use. Final Boss is fun and challenging.
