Sprung

released on Dec 08, 2004

Sprung puts players in the shoes of either Becky or Brett in a conversation-based visual novel that mostly consists of dialogue. Sprung can be regarded as a dating sim, though the linearity and variety in the game (as well as its humor) also lend it to being an adventure game. The game was one of the first dating simulation games to have a wide commercial release in North America.

When I was 11 years old and the Nintendo DS had just come out this was in a bargain bin at Walmart for like $10 and for some reason my mom bought it for me. Weird choice for a kid but whatever. Years later as an adult I found this at a used game store for $1 so I decided to rebuy it because childhood nostalgia is a hell of a drug. The store owner laughed when I brought it to the counter.

This is one of the most accidentally funniest games I've ever played, I got in a call with a group of friends, played through it and had the time of our lives. This is garbage, but I cannot forget how much fun it was watching how insane this was. God has graced you with the ability to pepper spray people at complete random, you better use it.

The only reason I know it exists is because of a artical reviewing ace attorney compared it to this, which is one of the strangest comparisons potentally ever made.

an absolute shrug of a visual novel. if i wanted to bang chicks i'd just do it in real life

The puzzles are too long just let me fuck the girl man

as a 7 year old playing this game was the modern equivalent to finding your dad's magazine stash

The animations are pretty smooth, but everything else feels like a generic rom-com. Not that there aren't any un-generic rom-coms.
