I don't often write reviews on DLC as frankly there is only so many ways I can write 'it's more of the same'. That isn't meant as an insult. The whole point of DLC is to give the player more of what they enjoyed in the headline act in the first place to make them part with their money and that's exactly what Cagliostro's Secrets does. That said if they had made a DLC that was actually a Kart Racer expansion of something bonkers, I'd have been all over it.

This mini expansion adds a new area of Hôspital Saint Louis on the outskirts of Paris looking for a missing 3rd Estate member for the revolution. There isn't a huge amount of added plot to the game here, a little background on Cagliostro creating the boxes he does to power the titans is about it. The setting itself is pretty nice looking but at the same time there is a lot of recycled assets from the main game and only 3 new enemies which are variations of the same model. At least thematically they were well done with a necromancer that can raise itself and other broken automats, Apothecaries that can heal and Gravediggers that...hit you with a shovel. There is one new Titan boss, a couple of new weapons that are just reskins rather than anything unique and some fairly weak armor.

I beat it in about 2 hours including the small secret area unlocked back at the Bastille and while I enjoyed it as I generally do exploring Souls Likes, 2 hours gaming for the asking price feels a little steep and it comes with the same technical issues as the main game for me hard crashing during that time. I don't regret playing it, (and I bought it in a sale so don't feel too personally burned financially) as I enjoy the format and after all what I wanted was just some more of the same so expectations met.
