Compared to the prior game, which whilst charming has it's flaws, SDRA2 is one of those fangames that you could actually recommend to someone who just enjoys the series at a passing level, rather than being knee-deep into it. It does the fun thing of understanding what it is, and playing with your expectations at every turn, whilst still being in a way that's satisfying and doesn't blindside you out of nowhere. Case quality is honestly some of the better in the series. Although I would recommend at least reading the plot summary of the first game before jumping into this one, because the first game's plot factors into this one in some fun ways. Rated higher specifically due to how impressive of a fan-game this is.

I didn't play this I watched WeebyNewz play it and this game made my start to University way easier because I would just watch her streams all day, not to mention this is by far the best danganronpa I've seen storywise the characters are all great, The idea with Mikado worked perfectly and I could see myself caring about all the characters and wondering who is gonna die next? thats always a sign of a good game, also chapter 3 was literally insane, no murder build up and trial can ever come close.

I played the undubbed version of the game (since the dub version is not complete at the moment) and wow, I can't believe how good this is for a fangame, I really enjoyed the story and art and I thought most of the characters were great.

Still, I have a critique to make.
The main issue with this game (for me at least) is the gameplay: In Danganronpa games you are supposed to figure out stuff by yourself and solve the trials, but in this game you don't have to think much, there will almost always be one of the smart characters ready to explain the whole case for you, and what you need to figure out is most of the time trivial things.
This is "balanced" by some pretty hard minigames, like the rebuttal showdown (which is so fast that you don't have even time to read) and the tts (which is needlessy long). I get that they are supposed to incentive the player to get the abilities, but it takes away the logic part and leaves only the gameplay.

Finally, about the story, while I really enjoyed it, I have to add that I didn't quite like the whole final part of fourth chapter (trial included) and the trial of the fifth chapter, they felt rushed and didn't leave to the hype given by the third chapter. I can't give more details without writing spoilers, so I'll leave it at that.

To conclude, I really recommend playing the first game when it's "official" translation is finished, and then playing this one after the dub is complete, they are both amazing fangames.

I was really liking SDRA2 until the fourth trial happened and it went absolutely downhill from there.

I haven't seen a single protagonist downgrade as much as Sora does in the latter half of this game, doesn't help either that Yuki is a one braincelled organism nightmare of a character that I couldn't stand and the plot started to revolve around him.

I really liked Kanade and Nikei though.
