Massive improvement over the original, but Geometry Dash is still the definitive version of this kind of game.

Filled with weird in-app purchases, music ranged from awful to bad. If I could rate it lower, I would.

TIG 2 brings a lot of really cool ideas, but I can't help but feel like so much is out of place in it. Why are there powerups to just make the level free to defeat, which cost freemium currency? Why is the level editor dependent on freemium currency? I would have just paid up front for this game if I could have, and I can't think of a game less fitting for this sort of monetization.

The song selection in this game doesn't feel like it fits at all, with a lot of the choices coming off as trying to include popular music for the sake of it. Like, I love Mutant by Teminite + Evilwave but it felt extremely underwhelming - as if the game's mechanics don't fit the song well.

Criticisims aside though, the game visually looks great and does have some fun gameplay ideas. I do appreciate that in response to Geometry Dash sort of stealing the first game's groove, TIG 2 decided to go in a completely different direction and cement itself as its own thing rather than being more of the same. A lot of the level gimmicks are pretty neat.

I'll probably end up revisiting this game once it releases on Steam.
