I never would have thought of putting The Oregon Trail on a home console 40 years after its original release, but they did it and they did it pretty darn well!

I played this for awhile and I never got around to finishing it (yet?) but it was actually pretty fun and well made, steering the wagon was fun and if you just whip your hand around a bunch you can hear the whip crack a billion times. Has a first-person shooting/hunting minigame, a fishing minigame(!), a family management system for illnesses, and various NPCs that you can buy stuff that changes how you manage out on the road. Not actually sure about what it's story is or what direction it goes in, but you get several options between who the head of the household is (a guy you pick to rep yourself) and they each have different perks.

It's a solid experience if you like these specific genres, and I'll probably play it some more, just not something I'd go out of my way to play maybe.
