The only negatives come when you compare it with the Sims 3. The only animals included are cats and dogs, and you can only see them in the wild in the new town (where there's actually too many of them, and they are all sick, so it makes you feel depressed). In the last game you had the ability to control your pets just like your sims, but this was a bad idea and I'm glad they removed it.
However, everything else about it is dope. This is the first time that I had fun with cats and dogs in the whole franchise, they are fleshed out and feel like a natural addition to the gameplay, and I actually want my sims to have pets this time (even though they can be a chore, just like in real life). The new veterinarian career is OK too.
But, to me, the world is just as big of a sell as the animals. I think it's inspired by New England, you can live in a house by the beach surrounded by forests and mountains, it's by far the most gorgeous place to live in.
