The Treasure of Usas is a platform game. Centuries ago, the War God Induras banished Usas, the supreme Mother God, and threw the four pieces of her jewel in the winds. Wit and Cles are attempting to find the broken jewel to try and achieve one of the greatest discoveries of the academic world. Their adventures, controlled by you, will lead them to many strange places to fight many unusual enemies. There are five stages in the game. There are emotion icons in the game and by touching these icons your player will change emotion. At the top of the screen you can see which emotion you have. This is important because you 'll have to have the same emotion of the demon of the level to fight him.

A good action platformer with nice visuals and music. The aesthetic is a bit more of a mishmosh of different cultures than being as cohesive as something like Castlevania, and the five stages feature mostly the same enemies which can make the game start to feel repetitive. The platforming is the key focus here, with each stage providing plenty of it and a convenient stage select via passwords.

This is an incredibly competent exploration action platform that feels wise beyond its year. I googled “Treasure of Usas + Spelunky” and didn’t get many results, but the similarities are definitely there. You’re a pair of plucky explorers entering a series of tomb/cave levels, and you navigate obstacles and puzzles through multiple paths with ladders and drops aplenty. The graphics are superb, the background of levels being gorgeously detailed temple god statuary, with charming character and enemy sprites. Really cannot stress how cool Konami was at this time.
