One of the best games I've played recently. While the combat is pretty decent, it gets a bit monotonous by the end. The character writing is just ok. The environments and floors of the tower are very well done. What really carries the game, though, is the overarching narrative, world building, and mystery. I was invested and guessing up until the final moments, and Tower of Time stuck the landing.

Tower of time is set in a fantasy land on the brink of extinction. For a long time this world has been slowly decaying, and with each passing year the population of intelligent races is dwindling and their territory shrinking. You play as a warrior who, as a child, discovers a mysterious tower buried beneath the earth. Now a grown man, this warrior realizes that the inside of the tower may hold the key to averting the apocalypse. Therefore, he gathers a group and embarks on a mission that is the last hope of this world.

Gameplay is based on exploring the in-game world, completing quests, fighting and improving your heroes' stats. In the game, you take command of a team of adventurers that you control from a top-down perspective. Each character is defined by the four parameters strength, speed, magic power and vitality and represents one of seven classes.

Combat takes place in real time. In order for players to more easily control the chaos of battle, the game offers the option to slow down time for short periods of time, which allows you to give orders without rushing too much. This is very useful because the characters have a wide variety of attacks and special abilities at their disposal, many of which can affect the environment.

During the campaign you have to traverse thirteen floors of the tower, which translates to about 20-30 hours of playtime. Between missions, you regularly visit a local town to gain power and replenish supplies and equipment. Some buildings in the town can be upgraded, which unlocks new gear and abilities. The developers also remembered to include a crafting system.
