I'm nostalgia blind as hell but the vibes alone bring this to a 8.

A step up from its predecessor in only not reusing the unique bosses, as highlighted in the previous review. However, this game is a downgrade in almost every way. The levels are way too easy and the game is extremely forgiving, a trait shared with GK2, only difference being the latter is not aimed at toddlers. Yeah, this game was way too easy; even as a child I remember dying much less (granted I still died a few times, as the level design is still solid), and generally found some levels to be boring and predictable.

Personally, I would've given this game a 4 if it retained the tone of its predecessor. While the first game's story isn't spectacular, it's at least really fun for an adult just as it would engage a kid. However, this game's plot is so unbelievably childish I can't help but exclaim how this is baby's first platformer. The plot in the first game is saving the ocean (there are corals and all that jazz, plus Ozzy is a sea turtle) from an evil shark king, while the plot in the second game... Boils down to singing a lot of dumb songs just to stop Icy the fish, who's nowhere near as intimidating so as not to scare a baby who's terrified of sharks? What a letdown of a final fight too - she just blows you away instead of actually trying to fight you. Don't know why there wasn't a third game despite this series deserving one.

In conclusion, while this is still a good game, I'd recommend you watching your 3-8 year old child play it. As it stands, Turtle Odyssey 2 is just way too easy.

EDIT DOWN BELOW:

I would be lying if I said this game didn't have charm though, because it does, just like its predecessor. I just can't help but aDORE the Faty enemy, which is a much smaller version of the 1st boss from TO1. They make such adorable sounds as they hop, and I remember trying not to kill them the last time I played this adorable, cute game.

Yes, I did replay this baby game with the No Faty Fatality Challenge, and the smile I had on my face after the fact felt so good that I HAD to give this game a 4 instead of 3.5 (I am SO sorry). Somebody adopt a Faty and give them the hugs they deserve, because this challenge made some of the levels more fun.

Yes, the supposed Fatty carried Turtle Odyssey 2. But no, it's Faty :)
