this turtle is hero of my childhood

This started as a fun little blast to the past but the difficulty spike when you get to around world 4 and world 8 are insane. It's something to where the game becomes more annoying to play because their idea of level design is throwing like 500 of those annoying enemies, something akin to bad Mario Maker levels. It was a nice romp until I got to the final boss which soured my entire mood, while he wasn't hard i'm pretty sure it's a universal bug where the boss would disappear from the stage and then never return, this happened to me about 5 times before I finally beat it, but the damage was done. For a cute little 2000's 2D platformer, it's fine, but nothing worth checking out other than nostalgia.

Believe it or not, I used to play a lot of games via Wildtangent, a now corrupt, private information stealing gaming platform with uninspired garbage that I can't even remember. The Wildtangent of the past however, was nostalgic and made my childhood. While it was not my first exposure to video games, it cemented them as my favorite hobby to do as a child.

Don't know why I decided to review this game beside it being incredibly obscure nowadays, but I have a very soft spot for it, even when I now have the ability to go back and revisit it. Turtle Odyssey is an incredibly fun 2D side scroller which aged surprisingly well, and was even remastered in 2015, retaining the classic levels that make it so fun. It's also one of these games that surpass its successor, mainly because it's more difficult and is aimed at a general audience.

The only greivance I have with this game is literally the second half of the game reusing the first 4 bosses, instead of coming up with new ones. This ironically, was fixed in Turtle Odyssey 2, where there are 4 unique bosses instead of 4 bosses being used twice but in harder stages. Really fun game overall.
