Came into this with very low expectations, thought it would be super easy to "solve" and just wouldn't be interesting. It ended feeling just the same as a souls game somehow (like it's supposed to be lol....) and like. it feels strange that it accomplished that. Level design that connects a random path to somewhere you've been previously, any exploring felt actually dangerous like you could lose all ur shit, combat required good spacing and timing, I mean idk I don't think I need to explain a souls game.
I was excited to start a challenge round after beating it (they have built-in challenge builds and stuff), and that's where it flopped because I started trying things where a single mistake meant death, and realized the fps is very consistently shit. I guess I didn't notice before because it didn't matter that much, but it dives from like 200fps to 30fps, and stays around 30 a lot in the final bossfight. Like why? How did they make it so unoptimized with a style like this? Idk but it made me lose interest, sadly. I don't want to upgrade my health or grind levels or something just so that a sharp fps drop doesn't cost me my run.
