X-Men: Next Dimension is a fighting game and the third game in the X-Men: Mutant Academy game series. Next Dimension expands upon the concept of the first two games by adding several new characters, 3-D maps, and a story mode, which allows the player to fight a series of battles in between short movies that move the plot along. The plot of the story mode is loosely based on the comic story "Operation: Zero Tolerance".

X-Men: Next Dimension attempts to expand upon the Mutant Academy series of fighting games with 3D arenas, a larger roster, and a story mode. While its ambition is admirable, the execution falls short. The combat feels stiff and unresponsive, with severe balance issues between its characters. Despite boasting impressive visuals for its time and a wealth of X-Men lore, Next Dimension fails to deliver a satisfyingly deep or polished fighting game experience.

This is the sequel to the Mutant Academy PS1 series. The gameplay feels a little bit off, with controls and combos that don't blend well. Not all characters are balanced, and it hurts the player in story mode. You can either skip this game or play Mutant Academy 2 on the PS1.

X-Men Next Dimension feels like a stuttering 3D fighting game that tries to do a bit of everything but falls short.

The roster has plenty of fan favs, and it brings a lot of different things such as the environment in the stages and individual character abilities like flight. Unfortunately, none of these things are fleshed out and the game feels like a beta version.

This game f*ckin rocks! wouldn't be surprised to see a competitive scene blossoming in a couple of years from now. the controls and movement of the characters is fantastic and the hitboxes are very tightly tuned. The graphics and soundtrack are a treat for the eyes and ears respectively.

The character design is kind of ugly, but besides that I think this is a pretty great fighter. The characters feel extremely different to each other, Wolverine heals like crazy, Phoenix flies around. The arenas are fun, many of them have transitions and shit. My fave is Cyclops as always.

This one actually had a story mode so it was more interesting than the last two... Spider-Man canonically dies between games so that's an L. Otherwise fun-ish, kinda infuriating but decent.
