After not playing a pokemon game since x and y, i decided to get scarlet as i had friends to play and experience it with, and it was fun to be able to play it with others. However, due to several reasons, the game just ended up feeling like a chore to complete, and by the time i defeated the E4, I was done with the game as I do not think it has anything else to offer me.
This is due to several reasons:
- poorly optimised, bad textures, uninspiring environments, bad gym minigame designs, can't enter shops, no voice acting, uninspiring soundtrack, bland story, the school could have had more content, open world for the sake of open world, no distinguishable way to see if a roaming pokemon is a shiny, i have never made a sandwhich, removal of set mode

I will give the game some points where i did enjoy it:
- Nemona was a fun rival, Team star was semi-interesting, sending pokemon out to walk with you is fun, the professor's story is interesting, roaming the world together with friends was fine although barebones, Larry

The shift to 3D for the pokemon series has always been a negative, not because I dislike 3D but because Gamefreak is just not able to make good 3D games. As long as gamefreak continues to have a small development team and short yearly releases, I do not think the pokemon games will change for the better and therefore i will probably not play another pokemon game again, especially since i think i can get the same, and even better pokemon experience with older entries.

gameplay is okay, i wish catching was more fun. i love the main cast though

I played this just to get Koraidon basically. Love that game-sharing on NSO!
An absolute failure of publishing, it could have been the best if it was allowed time to be finished, et cetera et cetera.
