The dex cut is the only reason people say this game is as bad as it is. This game doesn't suck any more dick than the Kanto games or the original Johto games.

this is one of the only "children's games" ive played that actually made me feel like it wasnt made for me, i cannot belive they wrote next to the attacks if theyre effective or not. i really liked dressing up my character and thats about it (of course i liked the funny animals who doesnt)

I have played my one Pokémon game. I can now rest, and never do that again. Yes I also played the shield one, no I'm not changing the first sentence. Or the other review.

sure they played it incredibly safe and the story is really not very good but almost everything else about it i quite liked
new designs are some of the best in the series and the human character design is great too

Underrated Pokemon game and dynamaxing is a great gimmick
Gen 8 has easily became my favorite generation. i love Galar, its quirky, the wild area is the best adaptation of "open world" pokemon we've gotten. and easily the cutest starters.
Decent games, though very linear. The Galar region is a bit boring, I dislike the big stadiums in most cities, especially when it's a small one like the fairy one. A lot of great ideas but not well exploited. Could have been better.
This is technically the only Pokemon game I’ve sit down and tried to play. But for reference, I know about and have tried to fully play every mainline game
With that said, I find this game is over hated. Sure the open world element is pretty stale and empty, but I appreciate the idea of making a more open Pokémon world, as it kinda fits in the style of these games. The main issue of this game is the story, it’s pretty boring and follows a lot of similar story limes with less interesting characters
A bright spot, however, is the Gen 8 Pokémon cast,. It’s pretty solid with awesome designs like Corviknight and the Coal line. Grookey is one of my favorite starters and Dynamax is a neat mechanic but overall kinda weak when Megas and Z moves are right there

They had some fun ideas and concepts but it missed the mark for me, dlc was the only thing I enjoyed in this game

Yeah, it was here that I just stopped enjoying the Pokémon main series... I beat the game, started the post game, and then just went "man, I could be playing other games I know I'll enjoy more" and just put it down
Fine game, loved getting early access to high-level Pokemon. It was a littler too linear and the graphics were lacking. I enjoyed the game, but I can't really pinpoint why I didn't LOVE it.
NOT THAT BAD. Hop is really good. The setting is really good (picking a jersey and a number with it is genius). The crowd cheering being part of the OST is really good. Human character design is really strong in this entry. The story is ass and the pokemon are ass and dynamax is ass but overall not the worst 60 bucks i've spent.
