It's a magnificent game, this. Super engaging and fast paced during late-game. Customization is on-point for the era and is less bloated than the likes of NFS Underground and guess what, you're not forced to make your car look like a bag of colored pencils for the so called Visual Rating.

Models, visuals and soundworks are rather simplified given the number of car rosters. Game tends to get difficult alot of times but the mistake I've seen alot of people make with this game was restarting the whole race right after crashing once, because the game has this rubberband system which both gives advantage and disadvantage to make the races "artificially" more exciting. I've had so many cases of close finishes with like 0.01 gap and whatnot.

My biggest complaint is that both AGRO and ROAR abilities are redundant. AGRO seems good on paper for absorbing both the damage and the slowdown on the last second but the camera angle makes it very distracting and there's always a moment of slowmo when the effect duration ends which can break the momentum. ROAR is even worse; I've tried it from all the angles possible but however I saw it, it was just giving me disadvantages. The oncoming traffic would crash onto you EVERY SINGLE TIME. The only time I saw it being useful was being close to ai opponents mid-air then casting it there. This was exactly why the Chopper races was the least fun I had in the game.

Oh, the soundtrack... It is glorious. There's a little something for everyone there, and better yet, you can choose which genre you wanna hear exclusively. I kinda hoped for something like EATRAX but still good nonetheless.
