an interesting game definitely, and very pleasant to play, but i dont know how much longevity Death and Taxes will have. i dont mean that you cant play this for a long time, you can! much like paper's please which it is heavily based on, you can finish a run in a single sitting - it only took me a little under an hour and a half.

unlike papers please, which was dealing with extremely real problems (your family's health, state terrorism, just doing the right thing, etc), Death and Taxes is more concerned with the less "real". you gotta judge people - decide whether they croak. eventually you might even stop paying attention to who these people are and just check "live" or "die" without consequence

thinking about your moments playing Death and Taxes will be enjoyable, and certainly interesting but it doesnt have the immediate power of Papers Please. there are few moments like the terrorist attacks, or like jorji and cobrastan. this is somewhat due to it being a shorther game, but it sticks out nonetheless

in any case, absolutely enjoyable game with great presentation (especially the voice acting!) and some interesting questions about mortality and fate and the like. i just wish it was a little larger to fully explore those themes and expose them to you, the player
