So imma keep it a buck I still haven't beat the final boss of this game but like I tried at that's what count but yeah I'm still counting it as completed but yeah I hate fixed cameras and the og resident evil bit I really enjoyed this one for some reason mostly the dual wielding and that I'm deeply attracted to women especially when their named claire redfeild but yeah fun experience not alot to say and not that I enjoyed at the time but when I beat the bow in the plan I was left with no ammo and heals and when I got to the artic place that shit was tense af and a brotha was struggling struggling and yeah pretty fun had to search up a guide but I'm not gonna hold the game against old games are retarded but yeah fun game 6.5/10

Wow...This was disappointing coming back to...

I first played this game when I was first getting into Resi back in 2016 and I remember it fondly, mainly for it's very bizarre and creepy setting. A prison camp/military base/luxury mansion/gothic mansion?? There's good reason why fans want this game remade, there's a lot of craziness that would be great to revisit...And to also revisit a version of this game that's enjoyable.

This game can be annoying. Super annoying. Certain sections of the game are a downright ballache to complete, like the Tyran boss battle on the plane. But it's worst offender, and the one that ultimately made me gave up on the game completely, was the Steve boss fight. It's not only frustrating to have an enemy that can down you in two hits and forces you to run away from it despite the clunky controls but it gets even worse when the game forces you to redo a whole other sequence of gaining the card, unlocking the extra ammo, etc. Call it a skill issue or whatever, and I also like a challenge too as well, but it was a level of repetitiveness that felt draining and believe me, I don't like to give up on games this easily.

Unfortunately, aside from a really strong atmosphere and unique story, the gameplay of this game truly let's it down. There's so many tiny issues with this game, from a game design perspective and even graphical (the game is so dark I kept missing herbs and ammo). I want to enjoy this game but it just felt like a really tiring downgrade to the OG Trilogy.

it kinda falls off after second half, there are some parts that are really annoying... also i hate steve, screw that character.
despite some personal issues i had with this games its pretty solid with good puzzles and ost.

This game is so split. Fans of the series either love it or despise it. Delving into reasoning further it seems that those that dislike it, simply feel so on the front that it is designed poorly or at a level making completion almost impossible without starting over at some point or another. Which isn't a reason to hate it (but don't get me wrong, not having the grenade launcher or the bowgun for Chris in the second half--simply from a lack of 'being in the know' about Noseferatu is fucking annoying).
But as for the narrative, I think it's deserving of the occasional masterpiece accolades that it receives from longtime fans and curious new gamers.

My biggest personal proof of this is in the characters of Claire and Steve. Claire has by no means been my favorite RE character at any point. I tend to avoid her runs on RE2 og and remake. And I'm never disappointed when her character isn't featured in the latest RE release...but this game changed that. I think you (anyone) has to play Code Veronica to really appreciate Claire. She's badass. I love her.

As for Steve? What an annoying brat? Even up to the point of witnessing his father die, and then realizing he has feelings for Claire, I just wanna punch the guy in the face for being so annoying. But by the end I'm totally moved by his character's progression and ending. I so wanted more from Steve in the future. And was thoroughly disappointed when realizing that's unlikely at any point.

I didn't find Claire and Steve's bond contrived, and in fact, I thought it was more interesting than Claire and Leon's. And I think as a sibling switch off for a game, it's pretty original in my realm of knowledge. And I think as far as Resident Evil games go, I think it's clever and fun.
This one is a win in my book and another RE game I'm proud to have completed.

Step down from RE3's gameplay, but a major step-up in story with memorable characters and an engaging narrative throughout. Good time

Hello, I just watched the ending for this game cuz of how unplayable it is.

My first little playthrough I got stuck on a part with no good ammo and on red health no heals...had to restart the game.

My 2nd run I put the fire extinguisher in a random area cuz I didn't think I needed it...I did...I restarted the game.

My final playthrough I got even further but now I have no ammo and I would have my grenade launcher but I don't cuz the way they have their inventory sharing/swapping is ridiculous and now I couldn't beat the final boss cuz of that.

This game is very ridiculous towards its inventory, I don't think I have anything else to say honestly.

The voice acting, puzzles, map design, all very good but again the inventory, all items another character has should automatically be put in the chest personally.

Also the ammo/heals are just idk not right, on my final playthrough I had like over 6 blue herbs and they proved no use after a certain point, health was no problem on the third playthrough, I mostly needed ammo.

I hope they make this game way better in the remake, and I understand that some people will see this as a masterpiece but my experience was just not so good I guess.

Now, should you buy and play this game? Up to you.

That's it, that's all. 6/10

The first RE game I ever played.. I finally got to beat it. It's definitely unfair in a few parts, but on the whole I really enjoyed it. Definitely fun to see the "end" of the classic RE style games.
